Front loading machines come with an in-built brush option and they are supposed to clean better and consume less water. Front loads, however, are significantly more expensive when compared with top loads. Additionally, most front loads are very heavy and cannot be moved around the house. Top loads are generally more convenient.
While a front load machine uses a tumble wash process that cleans clothes with a vertical spin movement, a top load machine offers a pulsator wash, which is a horizontal rotation movement. Since different companies offer slightly different cleaning systems, the choice is simply a matter of individual preference.
